2024 Sauvignon Blanc

Aromas of yellow apple, chalk, mown hay and fennel frond spill from the glass of the 2024 Long Walk Vineyard Sav Blanc. The wines tense acid back bone sneaks onto the palate beneath a satin veil before emerging polished and shimmering. The midpalate displays the spectrum of varietal flavors, grass, goose berry, green apple, kiwi and lemon zest that perform dazzling acrobatics atop an acidic tight rope. It sticks the landing on the finish as the acidity unfurls green flavors of apple and fresh chopped herbs.

Long Walk Vineyard Rosé

2024 Rosé

The 2024 LWV Rosé opens with a nose of toasted anise seed, crushed strawberry, and spring wildflowers. It enters the palate generously with luxuriously wrapped acidity. This expands into a mid-palate that feels like a pillowy cloud. Delicate fruit flavors of strawberry and barely ripe raspberry, lightly dressed in vanilla bean. Agile, the wine picks up speed towards the finish, revealing the tension typical of this wine. Lingering notes of grapefruit and pie cherry linger and resist fading.

Long Walk Vineyard Carignane

2023 Carignane

The 2023 LWV Carignane displays a vibrant nose of violets, dusty earth, and crushed raspberries. The wine enters the mouth with a burst of energy. The acid provides a sense of acceleration, rushing past tart berries and cherries. In the mid-palate the tannins emerge onto the surface giving the impression of lace. The wine finishes in racy yet delicate style, with flavors of pie cherry, pomegranate, and stems that linger nicely.

Long Walk Vineyard Grenache

2023 Grenache

A rustic yet approachable expression of the indomitable Grenache, combining delicate aromatics with bright red fruit flavors coupled with savory elements and a lingering finish. Layers of tarragon, nori, and cinnamon elevate the fruity profile of the wine.

Enjoy with herb-roasted lamb, hearty stews, seafood paella, and all things Mediterranean.

Long Walk Vineyard Mourvèdre

2023 Mourvèdre

An enticing wine, bursting with dark fruit flavors and rich savory notes, leading to a silky finish reminiscent of old-fashioned hard candy. European style body with a very manageable ABV level.

We especially like the Mourvèdre with slow-braised red meat dishes and rich game such as venison or rabbit stew. Risottos and any Mediterranean spiced dishes will pair wonderfully, and this is another Long Walk wine that loves rich cheeses. Try it with Gruyere or Pecorino.

Drinkable now, with great potential for aging (similar to past vintages)

Long Walk Vineyard Syrah

2023 Syrah

Sleek, dense, and juicy. A mysterious nose offering notes of fruit and flowers, and an acidity level that delivers a fresh profile and an agile sense of movement. Full-bodied yet not overwhelmingly fruity or spicy, with hints of licorice, coffee and molasses on the palate.

Pair the 2023 Syrah with steaks and other robust meats from the barbecue, plus a variety of stews and braised dishes, and hearty vegetables like mushrooms and eggplant.

Ready for your table and glass today, with big aging potential.

Long Walk Vineyard Zinfandel

2023 Zinfandel

The 2023 LWV Zinfandel offers tantalizing aromas of stewed blueberry, brandied plum and baking spices, which combine to leap from the glass.  The wine enters the mouth soft and dense. The mid palate reveals an intriguing range of sweet fruits, from fresh to dried to cooked, along with beeswax, wood smoke, and soy sauce. The ’23 Zin’s firm tannins are well submerged beneath a plush fruity fabric, surfacing only near the finish with darkening hints of earth, molasses, and balsamic syrup.
